Everton have rejected a second bid of £45m from Manchester United for England defender Jarrad Branthwaite.

The Toffees rejected a £35m bid from the Red Devils, who initially offered the 22-year-old last month.

It is understood that United’s improved offer. Including the possibility of additional payments, could help meet its target UFABET

However, the BBC reports that the figure does not match Everton’s valuation.

Branthwaite impressed as a left-footed centre-back at Goodison Park, helping the Merseysiders avoid relegation last season. Despite being deducted two points for breaching Financial Fair Play regulations.

United are keen to strengthen their defensive options and are in talks with Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt. Who is with the Netherlands at Euro 2024.

Raphael Varane has left the club and a new deal for veteran Northern Irish defender Jonny Evans has yet to be confirmed.

There are also doubts over the future of Sweden international Victor Lindelof. Who reported to Carrington on the first day of pre-season training on Monday.

And they are looking to make it the first of four potential big new additions for Erik ten Hag’s squad.

United’s chiefs held a recruitment meeting yesterday to also discuss swoops for Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt and Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee.
